Angele Rainville SJU Nicaragua 2007“When I placed myself in a culture that was different from my own it opened me up to experiences that I never imagined I would have. I learned a lot about myself and all the things I am capable of.  It dared me to step outside of my comfort zone and embrace the unknown. I have become more adventurous, confident and open-minded.  I can say that it has given me a drive to live life to its fullest and appreciate everything that comes to me.

My placement in Nicaragua involved working with individuals with developmental disabilities and was a stepping stone to the career I now have. Employers admire and appreciate people who take the opportunity to volunteer internationally but no matter what field you choose to pursue afterwards international experiences will build your character and skills.  “
