Ilinca | University of St Michael’s College | Honduras | 2008

Ilinca 1 USMC Honduras 2008“Intercordia taught me to be open, to accept everything, to take in everything around me and to just be. Intercordia was an adventure, one that taught me that feeling lost and out of place is okay, that to really become human is to open your eyes, mind and heart. It has made me feel comfortable with depending on others and asking for help when I need it. Spending three months in a rural clinic in Honduras taught me the fundamentals of medicine and showed me how innovative it can be. The experience opened my eyes to the world of health promotion and public health. It has reinforced my dream of wanting to become a doctor. Intercordia will always hold a place in my heart. I have created another family that inspires and motivates me.”
